Clothes in the pool...

So bizarre. I couldn't figure that either. I wasn't even sure what kind of clothes they were.

They appeared to be bloody--I guessed those were the clothes he was wearing when he raped Chris--a temporary way to dispose of them without having the bloody clothes in his laundry or trash can for the wife to see.
