And I summarised it into a film about a crew of a US submarine tasked with a covert mission testing a secret weapon. Then I read the real synopsis...they're supposed to be Russian?! They didn't even bother with a fake accent. Waa Taa Faa?

I'd say its stupid for all Russian crew to speak to one another with an accent. They would be speaking in russian. So, they had the choice of hiring Russian actors and have titles or just do it as they did. In MHO it did not take me out of the film. Not sure what the big deal is.
