Spartacus and Gods of the Arena this film is not

Did anyone else sense the rip-off effect? They did use music from the Starz series.

I thought I recognized some of the music from Spartacus. They also stole some other things from the series too. This movie sucked and just made me miss Batiatus.

Ah, John Hannah, a memorable villain of a Batiatus. I missed him in the last series, but the writers let only Lucretia survive. I miss that sexy Gannicus and the evil Ashur. The film "Pompeii" is an embarrassment to the epic genre.

Absolutely? I think that everyone should give up on doing anything even remotely close to Spartacus (Hercules, etc.). It just makes these films look even worse than they already are. Nothing will ever come close to Spartacus (the series). I was so excited to see Pompeii because of my love for Spartacus and I was so disappointed.

Look - Spartacus draws blood. ~ Lucretia

I was hoping that the creators of Spartacus would continue with the story of Julius Caesar. He was turning into an intriguing character. Now there's a life that is so epic that it would make a fabulous series if handled in the same thrilling, dynamic and vivid fashion as the Spartacus saga. If you like Spartacus, then you probably enjoyed the Rome series, an HBO production. It is much more subdued and less action packed than Spartacus but extremely well done.

Spartacus played out over many episodes for like four seasons. It's pretty hard to compete within any single movie. It's been quite a while since I saw the movie Gladiator, but that probably comes closest as far as arena fight scenes go. Movies like This basically has the arena as a back prop
