god this and god that (first 2 minutes)

I grew up thinking that there was separation of church and state and you don't have to be a Christian to be a political figure or a patriot, and ever since then... I see those were such lies to keep people like me pacified.

I didn't even know there were paid chaplains on staff for the house and senate, and that they pray before meetings, have their bible studies and christian prayer breakfasts every week. I thought that was something only conservative communities had to face at board meetings and such.

How can any atheist be respected in such scenarios where people can't keep god to themselves for one work day? We have to pray to god ( or show respect while they waste time) and we have to take oaths to god and we have god on our money, and Christians have the audacity to say they are discriminated against in this country.

Let's see an atheist be elected president. Let's wait and see if that will ever happen. I doubt I will even see a Jewish person be elected president in my life. This country is so overrun by these people who think you need to believe in god to be a good person who cares about others. It's just not true. If anything, I argue you are likely a better person if you simply do the right thing because it's the right thing to do, no matter what happens after you die.

I really don't have a problem with Christians being Christians and being politicians, but I have issue when they act like everyone else better stop everything so they can all act like Christians. Stop everything, we have to celebrate Christmas and Easter, and we got to pray and swear to god.

If you say, "How about we do our jobs and keep those religious beliefs personal," they say their rights are being impeded on. Do atheists have no right to not be asked to wait around while they pray at work or not to be asked to swear to god before testifying or taking an elected role? My beliefs is that that sort of thing is harmful because it divides us and makes one group of people appear superior, but my beliefs don't mean anything because Christians in office need someone to publicly pray for them every day and get paid for it.

If christian leaders are paid to be religious at government functions, then I can't see how it could be at all welcoming to non Christians.
