How good would you say this anime is?

This is probably the most heart wrenching anime I have ever seen. The last episode is one of the few shows of any kind that has brought a tear to my eyes. I would recommend this show to anyone.

It started really good, captured me from the get-go. Then along the way it dragged somewhat along. The last episodes got better again and the very last episode is just wow. I gave it a 9, since it left me in tears - I can't even remember when I last saw such a powerful ending.

It's amazing, and as I've come here, I'm devastated that this message board is basically empty.
