...was it a joke?

Watching The Nostalgia Critic's takedown of this movie, and judging only by the footage he showed in his "review", I could not shake the feeling that this was one big soapy mess of a satire. The overacting, poor lighting, general lack of even basic production values...and let's not forget the ringleader to all this is a somewhat popular comedic internet movie critic. I mean, I canNOT be the only person on earth who thinks this, can I??
