Nooo, the american remakes is usually very bad compared with french originals. share
I would agree. Very few remakes of French films work well. French films are either really farcical or really intimate and talky, two things Americans have a hard time pulling off. The remakes of farces tend to be too sincere and cloying and remakes of the talkies tend to speed things up too much and lose the dramatic "flavor". The French always inject a bit of political satire, something Americans steer away from in movies.
