What a waste...

This movie is based on a movie that is supposedly based on true events. The recordings that we here (the ones that have no video and no translation) are real. The supposedly are recording from an exorcism that took place in the 1940's and the girl has the same name as the girl in this film. Much of the video is based off the movie "The Exorcism of Emily Rose".

Acting is horrible and almost laughable at times, even though the very beginning of the movie says that it's all true. They follow a "Paranormal Activity" filming style (dialogue leading up to an event, recording of the event, next day or several days later). I seriously think someone watched these two movies and then wrote a mashup. This is complete *beep* in all its glory and a complete waste of their $100,000 budget (must have been spent on that leisure suit).

If you were thinking about watching this, please don't. It's bad enough that I had to. I hope to save you the trouble.

Yeah, this was bad. Wanted to like it, but just couldn't get past some of the acting (German doctor, her parents, etc.)

I wish there were subtitles for the exorcism tapes...that would have made it a little better.

reply

Here you go, exorcism recordings with subtitles.

I agree, except for one thing...the recordings are *supposedly* from the 1970's, not from the 1940's. The real Annelise Michel died on July 1, 1976. TV only came out in the late nineteen forties so there was no way this could be from then, not to mention Germans were too concerned with other matters in the post World War II world to worry about possession. Of course, with all the concentration camps and atrocities committed against the Jews, one has to wonder if they were all possessed by the devil. Then again, that's letting them off the hook.
