Seriously, it would of been awesome if it wasn't all sci fi with the weird looking characters and shooting blood out of your body. I wish it was a realistic modern day prison movie about young teens trying to survive in prison. Now THAT would of been cool. No offence to people who like this type of anime but I never really liked sci fi anime. I prefer modern day and realism. Still it was an okay anime. I kinda took a liking to Shiro and Ganta's friendship. How they'd do anything for each other.

You are entitled to like what you do but i prefered the sci-fi aspect of this show. I wish more emphasis was placed on where their abilities originate from and their true potential.

Really late reply.. anyway.

If you read the manga you'll learn everything you want to. The whole back story. Quite a few surprises too.

How Shiro came to be what she is (truly) and where she is from, what causes Branches of Sin to develop (and evolve), more about the Nameless Worm, why Ganta was born, etc. etc. etc.

And "was the Woodpecker happy after all?"

Agreed. The blood weapons were silly and made it feel like a little kids' show despite the other content.
