I suggest reading the manga. It's excellent/better and there are some things that were changed for the anime that have quite important roles later down the line. I think the anime was only made for 12 episodes considering who you met and did not meet. They kind of screwed up the arcs a bit. It was also not that popular in Japan, sadly. I believe the last chapter of the manga just came out.. so read it all while you can.

All the characters that you have been introduced to and the ones you have yet to see get so much more badass pretty quick. And the fights that take place near the final arc and such, great.. I mean, just really really good.

FYI: There is an OVA that has been released that's all about Senji aka Crow. "Wielder of the Red Knife" http://deadmanwonderland.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Knife_Wielder

Yeah I was liking the show but once I found out it was so short and I was near the end I got mad. If the anime has some sort of conclusion I would rate it high, but I really hate how it went.

I keep telling people "read the manga," because it really is good.

Unlike some others out there (anime and manga) that are really good but seem never ending or cut short *cough*Berserk*cough* Deadman Wonderland has officially ended. The anime was cut short for not being all that popular in Japan, or so I read somewhere, which sucks. There is that one OVA, maybe more to follow but doubtful.

Anyway, manga: Good story/development, includes important elements not in the anime, has a beginning and end.

I wish then they had given it a conclusion for the anime then. I plan on reading the manga though cause I want to know how it all ends. I just wish the anime had a conclusion. Even if that conclusion isn't connected to the manga. I know of a couple animes that have done that where they concluded the anime series with there own version, while the manga was still going. Still defs going to check out the manga I was planning on skipping to the part the anime got up to but after reading your comment that probs isn't a good idea now lol.

Been a while since I have seen the anime, but from what I remember: Ganta gets to Wonderland all the same, but Yō (Hummingbirds brother) fills not just his role but the role of an important character that is kind of a focus point of the arc that follows (after the anime ends, but hints at). I believe you may also meet some other interesting Deadmen as well, maybe. Both of these things don't occur in the anime.

You can skim some things, but if you really are interested in the story/characters it's always good to start a manga from the beginning. Good refresher anyway. Sometimes a few additional flashbacks that are dropped for anime adaptations.

Minor changes are interesting too and will leave you wondering why they were changed in the first place. Like the arena Ganta and Hummingbird fight in. In the manga there is more than just that glass cage for fights. Also Hummingbird and Crow's little comedic moments are priceless, Crow being all shy around the ladies and such and Hummingbird knowing this full well.

It's a shame it wasn't popular; this is definitely the worst ending I've seen in a series.

I'm with you having just finished watching the entire series(plus the "Wielder of the Red Knife" OVA) on Netflix. Although, I've kind of gotten used to becoming interested in a show that ends up short-lived(Firefly, Space: Above and Beyond, Otherworld, Revolution, etc.). **shrugs**

I'm still optimistic that they'll make more OVAs like they did with "Eden of the East" and properly finish the animated version of this story. Anyway, if you like the brutalness and gore of this show, you should also check out Shingeki no kyojin (2013)(aka Attack on Titan) which doesn't appear to be even close to being cancelled despite the fact that I am interested in it. lol

BTW, one more thing...is it just me or does the English actor for Ganta sound like they are channeling the voice of Milo Oblong from "The Oblongs"? lol

Klytus, I'm bored. What play thing can you offer me today?

I just decided to watch this on a whim over on Netflix, and yeah, I was very disappointed that it ended without wrapping anything up. I really enjoyed the story and animation up to that point, so I looked it up straight away and found out about the manga. I'm sure I'll read it someday.
