Yeah. The tattoo was a callback to Holly's tattoo earlier in the movie. The purpose was to show the creature was a transformed Holly. --- "'WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?' Then Lois Lane says 'Martha's his mommy's name.'" - Mike Stoklasa

That's what I thought it was supposed to be. However, I never saw any scene that showed the tattoo earlier. Although, they may have mentioned it.
