SPOILER: Why did they reach the Dyatlov Pass so fast?

In the film, when they discuss the failure of their gadgets, it is suggested that they go back to where everything is normal, because otherwise they would be flying blind. It is mentioned that according to the map they shouldn't really be at the Dyatlov Pass, that they should trekking at least through midnight to reach the place. So, how come they got there so fast? Was it that the map had been faked or purposely wrong? Or was it something else?
