Worst Texas Accent???

This was an entertaining movie, par for the Statham course. The accent he delivered while playing the Texan role though, was the most awkward synthesis of syllables heard on film in a long time.

Yea, I came here to say the same thing. I was watching on Netflix with subtitles, as I usually do. I wasn't paying attention and noticed it said the words, followed by "in a Texas accent."

I stopped what I was doing thinking, "Heh, this oughta be good..."

I agree that Statham was brilliant. Here's this British guy who had to take on the persona of a Texan winging it. Leslie even says later that she knew something was up. So Statham played this perfectly. Kudos to great acting!

Errrr...I don't think BigGusDickus was complimenting Statham on his accent.

His accent sounded like he had some candy in his mouth.
Or a speech impediment

This must be what its like for Brits when they hear Americans doing bad British accents. It was awful.

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!

First the One,Safe and now Parker, Statham can fight but he sucks at doing accents, I did find it entertaining though

Statham and accents aren't a good match, even if his Texan accent here was supposed to be phoney.

I noticed that right off the bat. It was rather irritating listening to him trying to pull off a Texas accent. Now, there are many English actors who can pull off American Accents (east coast or southern) successfully. But unfortunately, Jason Statham is not one of those actors.
