Why did Greg tell his ex girlfriend

Why did he tell her that he was taping her? He should have been quiet and headed to his lawyer or the police station.

"'And my mom gotta stop trippin, man. Bitch be tripping all the time, man!'"

reply

I know, what a freaking idiot! At the very least he should have driven straight to the police station after shoving her out of the truck, but I knew he'd do something stupid like go home first!

reply

So she could follow and kill him. Lol.

Yeah, that was a really dumb move on his part. I was yelling at my TV saying, "What the eff are you doing?!" lol

His ex gf wasn't much smarter - you're going to risk MURDER, or at least attempted murder, to get back a confession that you *gasp* E-MAILED A VIDEO?? The cop said in the beginning whoever did it would face a misdemeanor - a year of probation, no jail time...what kind of total idiot would think it's a good idea to commit a FELONY to cover that up?!

Haha I was wondering the same thing. Had she confessed, it would've been a year probation with no jail time. I guess that wasn't good enough for her so she......attempts murder?! lol What? Although she might've done it so no one would ever find out it was her so it wouldn't ruin her father's reputation.

Actually, they have changed some laws about taping underage kids online, even if it is done by them. There was that case about the girl who sexted her topless pic to her bf who then sent it around. The girl, the bf, and those who forwarded it were all convicted of crimes and registered as sex offenders! Their lives were all ruined.

In that other crazy movie, Girlfight, I am shocked they offered probation for those girls, even though Haley wimped out on convicting them. The kidnapping charge should have been false imprisonment, yes, but taping your friends beating the heck out of a girl deserves some kind of jail time. Ridiculous.

In this case, the unlawful distribution of an underaged sex offense is extremely severe in the eyes of the courts. It is considered child pornography. Whether you agree or not, they all would have received serious jail time. They are lucky they didn't get (well not Greg, he's dead) facilitation charges in Lexi's death, despite it being somewhat of an accident.

Whoever made this law go though needs a heavy blunt instrument hitting their head, repeatedly. its empty anyway.
If it reaches internet - its going to spread. the ONLY person at fault is the girl that sent the picture. She should have known that if she sent it via internet its gone.

Because in the normal world of a simple guy like Greg, you never think that someone is going to pull out a gun and try to murder you. Would you ever imagine your bitchy but otherwise fairly normal ex-gf is suddenly a gun-toting loon?

This movie went from a sad story about Lexi/Greg sex tape and the underlying cautionary tale to a whole thing about him and the brother to a looney girl shooting up the town. WTH?

reply

Another thing: why didn't he send it to the cops or his mom or someone so he would have backup. You never know what is going to happen. He was so pie in the sky naive about it. He was dumb and a slug for taping him and Lexi but really not a hardened criminal. It was really sad.

Uhh... you know that this wasn't improv, right? The actors, bad as they were, were saying lines, and following directions off a script, crappy as that script might be.

To the "writers" of this silly thing: hopefully you're familiar wtih these lines--"Would you like fries with that? Thank you, please drive through."

telling the truth is a revolutionary act."

None of the kids in this movie were very bright, but Greg takes the cake. He was as dumb as a fencepost.

What is the term for a necessary plot device, i.e. Greg being stupid so the plot can run it's course? Whatever it is...that's your answer.

You know: fish, chips, cup 'o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary fu*king Poppins... LONDON.

I just saw the movie a little while ago, and during that scene where Greg gets his ex-girlfriend to confess, the whole time I was watching it I was thinking "Please don't reveal to her that you recorded her confession". I think he felt like he was finally standing up to her and taking back control and like another poster said, he just wasn't thinking that she would be capable of being so dangerous. Meanspirited and cruel in some ways, but not capable of killing someone.

The term is IITS: It's In The Script (as in, it has no other reason to be happening)

reply

Be coz he's 17 and pissed off at the girl. Gut reaction....plain & simple. Just naive & obviously unaware of the reprussions.
