Adagio for Strings

I think using such highly recognizable music that is already tied to one of the more iconic death scenes in film history and playing it for several minutes at maximum volume during the death-scene climax of your own movie is really not a good decision. Agree, but it has been used in many a film besides Platoon, e.g. the Elephant Man. But, I think it has been used too many times now to evoke tears. It doesn't do it for me any more anyway. The piece was evidently played at Einstein's funeral according to wikipedia.
