Loved this film- craig roberts is too adorable.

HOWEVER. could someone please explain kevin mckidd in this film! Why was he acting all strange around imogen potts and hugging her photo and crying on her shoulder? I thought maybe he knew her mother or something but it's never explained..
It's a pretty major plot hole, unless i missed something important. Please someone explain!

It's quite simple, he developed romantic feelings for her, which started when he saw the photos. His way of expressing these feelings left a lot to be desired. So it's not a plot hole.
