It wasn't even bad or 'explicit'. It was classed as "Strong Sex" by the BBFC but was hardly strong. Kind of mild, just lasted longer than a 12a film would.

And on second thought, the sex scene was necessary and tastefully done, as well as psychologically accurate. Ronan's character is mentally unstable and emotionally vulnerable, so it makes sense she would sexually respond that way to someone so stable and dominant.
