Very unrealistic in Crystal pantry

So you want me to believe that a rich girl who buys only name brand items and shops high end. Who probably cant cook. Would actually have great value products that is the knock off of name brand items in her pantry from a walmart. I dont think so.

lol! I was thinking the same thing when I saw that! Then when she couldn't cook, I wondered why she even had spices..Maybe she liked the appearance of stuff in the kitchen, but that doesn't explain the Great Value stuff.

reply

She couldnt even figture out how to open a can of soup. But yet we are suppose to believe her kitchen.

I have a full array of spices, most I never use. I say about my buying: I buy for the life I wish I had.

Rich girl probably had a shopper for the everyday stuff... And maybe even a cook coming in if home cooked food was ever desired. :-P

Thats fine but that doesnt explain why she had walmart brand items she would go to a high end store.

"She" could have if "she" did the everyday supply shopping which I said maybe she had someone else do it for her. ;-)

Very funny. I was thinking the same thing. What the hell is Crystal doing buying all that Walmart off brand crap? She must have been slumming that day for cheap spices.

reply

LOL I was thinking the same thing! I even had to rewind it to make sure I saw it correctly.

Even if she did have someone buying the stuff for her - I would imagine that person would get brand name spices. If I had an employer that paid me for cooking you better believe I would.

A Canadian budget, eh?

Lol. I kind of can relate to that coz me and my friends are so disinvested in grocery shopping (THE WORST KIND OF SHOPPING EVERRRR!!!) that we just pick up like really cheap things.
Basically because we know we are never gonna like really cook, u know? Plus when you save on food stuff, you can spend on other more important stuff like clothes and shoes and lattes.

It's okay. I saw a Harrison Ford movie once where he, as a rich man, answered his answering machine (in his huge gorgeous home) -- and it was something you find cheap at Big Lots! I know -- because I had the same machine!!

reply

I know, that made no sense. Clearly that was Walmart's product placement but it had utterly no place in that scene. Especially when just earlier Crystal called Jillian Wendy Walmart or whatever she said. I decided to try to ignore that ridiculousness and suspend belief enough to get thru the movie.

reply

She didn't cook, didn't know how to cook, and didn't need to cook since she could eat dinner wherever she wanted or order whatever she wanted, so it made sense that she wouldn't know of or have gourmet ingredients in her kitchen. Besides, we weren't supposed to notice or care about the brand, the point of the scene is that she happened to have every spice there is, where the soup kitchen clearly did not and so appreciated her gift of generosity.😉

reply

Oh i know all that but Crystal is a high end girl. She would not have someone who worked for her shop at Walmart to buy stuff she needed for her house. So i get what you are saying but she would not have off band items in her house.

I think she wouldn't care about brand names of spices; her main interest before Derek was fashion.
