This movie encourages child abuse

Using the word 'bastard' is verbally and emotionally abusive to children.

Whoever came up with this movie's title should be skinned alive and fed to sharks, like all child abusers.

Put a cork in it, you filthy bastard.

Seriously though, hopefully in the 2 years since you created this thread, you learned the modern definition of bastard, which is (according to multiple dictionaries):
1)A person considered to be mean or contemptible.
2)an offensive or disagreeable person
3)a vicious, despicable, or thoroughly disliked person
4)an unpleasant or despicable person.

Seems like a fitting title to me ;)

Merriam Webster

Definition #1

1 : an illegitimate child

I guess they didn't get your memo.

reply

Words can have more than one meaning, even according to your own preferred dictionary.

Merriam Webster:
bastard- an offensive or disagreeable person

reply

At least I know how to use a dictionary, and I don't condone child abuse. Too bad the same can't be said for you.

reply

When did bastard ever mean: abused child? The only other meaning is a child born out of wedlock. I can't believe you thought 'illegitimate' meant 'abused'. Please just stop writing on the internet before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.

reply

Here's your stated definition, in case you forgot:

1)A person considered to be mean or contemptible.
2)an offensive or disagreeable person
3)a vicious, despicable, or thoroughly disliked person
4)an unpleasant or despicable person.

You want that to mean the same thing as what Merriam-Webster defines as 'illegitimate child'. You are trying to 'slur' those two definitions together, so that they both apply to the same word. In doing so, you are telling illegitimate children that you think they are despicable, unpleasant people and they always will be, because of something completely outside of their control. That is abusive behavior. Only a moron would need this explained to them.

It's funny you think that insults from someone like yourself would matter to me at all. Frankly, I would be more concerned if you said nice things about me. Your contempt is the high point of my day.

reply

So now you want to acknowledge the existence of the definition that you adamantly denied just moments ago haha. There's absolutely nothing abusive about the term bastard. You're worse than a feminist griping about the use of the word 'bitch' in a movie. Nobody likes people who scour the internet looking for little, insignificant things to be offended and make a fuss about.

reply

I never denied those definitions exist, obviously they do. I just pointed out the #1 definition of the word, which you conspicuously omitted. The fact that it means all these things at the same time is exactly the problem. That's how slurs work.

Why would I stop? You're defending a practice of child abuse and acting like anyone that doesn't tolerate it is mentally inferior. It's simultaneously the dumbest and most offensive sequence of words I could imagine someone stringing together, and I mean that literally. Everyone should know how indefensible this practice is, and you make as good of an example as any other smug moron.

reply

You're such a bastard.

reply

Sorry bro I was high on coke when I wrote this.

This is by far the weirdest conversation I've ever had on IMDB.
