Kris Marshall is brilliant in this

Kris Marshall is a PERFECT replacement for Ben Miller in this show. He is a good actor, his personality is much sunnier than was Miller's, and I don't find him "painful" to watch at all, though another fan thought that.

Add to that: Last week we watched the rerun of the episode in which Det. Richard Poole is murdered and Det. Humphrey Goodman comes to Ste. Marie to replace him. Most of the mysteries on this show -- "Death in Paradise" -- are interesting and well done, but this particular episode is beyond brilliant. The new DI (Detective Inspector) is faced with a murder case which boils down to only four suspects, and it is one of the most intriguing cases we have ever seen. Could one of you say you figured it out before the end?

It seems that "Death in Paradise" is one of the few hour-long shows that do not title each episode, so we can't refer to them by name. Regardless, the one Poole/Goodman episode is canny enough to baffle even the most observant followers of Jane Marple and Nero Wolfe, it is that good.

Cheers,
Dan
