Why all the hate?

There are a ton of similar cartoons that aspire to edgy randomness - what makes this one so hated? Just because it's an obvious rip off of Family Guy style? But MacFarlane utterly ripped off The Simpsons. In the beginning of Family Guy, it was hated and despised just as much as Crash Canyon is now.
