Minneapolis/St. Paul Locations

As an MSP local it was really fun to spot all the Minneapolis and St. Paul locations where they filmed this movie.
What was a little strange was that I've been to a funeral at the funeral home they used (probably the same room they used too).

I really enjoyed this movie. It kind of snuck up on me. I perhaps enjoyed it a little more than I expected to because of the local connections but I also appreciated the story and acting. It's moments like these when I'm happy I have Netflix with it's little "movies you might like" section.

As a local I was able to be one of the extras for the wedding reception scene. Unfortunately, I ended up on the cutting room floor as more went on at the reception during filming than ended up in the final version (Shelley Long entering the ballroom and mentioning something about "pictures" for example.)

And I liked seeing that Scott & Kristen's apartment is just a few blocks from where I actually live! For locals who remember the Dunn Brothers coffee shop just north of Franklin & Lyndale, look closely at the former coffee shop and you can still see the coffee roaster in the window!!

That's fun that you were an extra! I've always wanted to do that. I'm sure it's not as glamorous as we all imagine but it would still be interesting to see behind the scenes.
