1990 SAT score? Is that supposed to be impressive?

I didn't get the impression that they were making her out to be any kind of genius, just smart. And 15 years old. 1990 sounded like a pretty good score to me, but it's been a while since I followed such things. From what I've seen online, a 1990 score would put her around the 90th percentile, give or take. Seems like 90% of people who took the SATs should be impressed by that.
