fan of the original movie trilogy

I have all three movies. I think the first two are the best and the last has good action scenes but overall the movie was a bit stale. Jason statham was awesome as frank martin, no one else comes to mind that could've played him better for character age or physical ability to perform the martial arts stunts. There are very few actors in the industry today who perform martial arts in their personal time. they only learn what is required for the character role, after which they may never do it again.

Most martial arts in movies are heavily coreographed and the actors who perform the stunts really do not know much about the art of the what they are doing. Yes the martial arts in these movies is the same but Statham is a true martial artist so he brings a high degree of skill to the stunts that other actors can't match.

I've only seen Vance in a few things and from those, he seems very miscast as frank martin. I don't believe he'll be at the same level as statham for this role.

I'm a massive fan of the three Transporter movies and had high hopes for a fourth with Jason Statham in the role. Jason Statham IS Frank Martin.

As far as I'm concerned by turning the movies in to a TV show they've demoted it. TV shows mean smaller budgets and then especially with a simple movie idea like The Transporter for a TV show they'll overcomplicate it with a bigger cast of regular characters (I don't want to know anyone else other than Martin), character development (I don't want to know more about anyone else or even Martin), how Martin runs his business (I don't care!), and regular bad guys.

The Transporter franchise is meant to be a crazy action, popcorn fodder, once every couple of years, big screen movie. By stretching the idea out over 13 or 20 episodes is madness. It's gonna get VERY tired and repetitive REALLY quickly.

Bottom line for me? I will not be watching. I very sincerely hope this show bombs.

I remember the good old days when people waited for a show to air before calling for it to be cancelled...

I'll give the show a shot, if I'm able to. I did like movies after all, I just don't like that the main character is Frank Martin when it doesn't need to be.

When I first saw the first film, it was the third movie with Statham I had seen(after Ghosts of Mars and The One) and when he started doing all these martial arts moves I was like "Damn, this guy looks really good doing all this stuff." That was the first time I had seen him do any real fight scenes in a movie, so now I'm always on the lookout for the next great Statham Action film.
