Ridiculous Fight Scenes & Mindless Nudity

Hey folks,

What is it with the absolutely dumb fight scenes? I never liked Bruce Lee martial arts films, but this show was even worse. I was waiting for the "Biff!" "Boom" and "Pow" signs to flash up in the scenes. Obviously there are folks who must like the show, but it really seems to be targeted for the comic book audience. Then they throw in some good looking gals in nude scenes that are thrown in for strictly prurient reasons.

Oh well, there are folks buying it, but it should not be confused with any sort of serious drama.

I actually found many of the fights to be quite good. The biggest issue of course is that they always have to follow the TV/film standard of having the hero be just completely awesome 99% of the time, but as soon as they need some drama with the bad guy, they make the hero a stupid weakling so he can have his triumphant comeback.

Edit: To clarify, I've only completed season 1 so far, but the fight scene in the opening of season 2 episode doesn't look good at all. So I will only apply the above statement to season 1 at this point.

The genre is called action for a reason. If you want a "serious" series watch something like True Detective.
