Some of the valuations are quite ridiculous.

Not being funny right but do people in the US like to give away money? Some of the tat on there wouldn't fetch more than a hundred quid and yet they talk about getting hundreds or thousands of dollars for some things. Case in point. I was watching one a couple of days ago and Brandon and Lori found some DJ equipment and lighting gear. Brandon found a couple of mixing desks which he described as 'high end' and figured he could get $700 for just one of them. Bushwah!!!! I have both of those desks and I paid around £200 I think for the Behringer brand new back in 2004 and I've just looked on Amazon US and they've got one for $379 new. I also bought a Mackie 1604 (the other one) from eBay last year and it cost me £117. That's around $190 by the current exchange rate. Just saying like.

Yep i've noticed this also, they found a Geni phone in one of the episodes and Brandon said it was worth a couple of hundred dollars as it was a collector item!!! Quick google search and they are in fact worth $9.99 at best!!!

Since then i always have a chuckle at there over inflated estimations!!!

It's not just about me and my dream of doing nothing.

They should do a crossover with Hardcore Pawn, so we see them take their items which they believe to be worth $4000 to Les, who gives them $50.

I sleep now.

Completely agree that the valuations are often ludicrous. The first show I saw, they described 3 old rubber hoses as 'welding gear' worth hundreds of dollars.

The valuation of obsolete, used electronic equipment, assumed to be working is sometimes farcical.

Sorry to bump this thread but I watched one episode with Lori and they found a still (making distilled water from tap water) I work in a lab and even the most budget still is over £1000 and this was a high end one they severely under valued it.
