authorities should rescue all the children there...now...

just watched this follow up on netflix.

I remember seeing the first documentary and while it was shocking to see how entrenched the cult have become, the comments from all of them re: "the end is coming...and very soon" should really cause alarm for the authorities and at the very least lead to an investigation into the well being and safety of the children locked into the cult because of their parents.

What worried me was their conviction that the world was going to end and soon. When it's a random nutjob in the street waving "the end is nigh" placards, good on them, but, when there's children locked into that environment, it's another matter entirely.

How many times have we heard of a cult committing mass suicide to fulfill some deluded prophecy?

I would be first in line to offer words of encouragement for fred phelps, the out-of-control ego who has instigated the cult, to end his life and bring an end to his bigoted bile but I would worry for the kids who have no choice and don't know any better because they are shielded from reality in the cults' bubble.

And I don't mean a Waco style *cough* intervention by the authorities. I mean getting the kids into safety and sending in mental health experts who can help the kids who have been clearly brainwashed beyond belief.

Perhaps the people who have left since Therouxs' previous documentary might be the ones to initiate that call to action.
