Censoring the word "Fuhrer" in the Subtitles.

When I watched the series on Netflix, I noticed that the word Fuhrer never had all its letters in the subtitles.

It was always spelt "F_hrer"

Is there a German law against using that word?

If not, it had the opposite effect of shame, as I kept thinking about how some people spell God, G_d. It is done out of immense respect, which didn't' seem to suit.
