This is one of the worst horror films of all-time!

This is one of the worst horror films of all-time!

I'm serious.

I'm fine with slow-burn horror films. But this is just garbage. It is a chick flick melodrama masquerading as a horror film.

I think they should patent this film as the cure for insomnia. I predict it would work wonders for that! It is truly remarkable in its ability to be exceedingly boring.

Another remarkable thing is that this is the first film I've ever seen that somehow has the creepy aesthetic of a good slow-burn horror film, yet paradoxically does not cause me to feel any kind of creeped-out emotion at all. The sole emotion I feel during this film is boredom.

I cannot fathom how the filmmakers possibly accomplished that paradox. If they did it on purpose, then that accomplishment would be a work of genius. If they did it by accident, then they somehow stumbled onto an odd way to create a film which bends the laws of nature.

I don't even know if I described that paradox correctly. It is such a bizarre experience that I have no idea how to put it into words. Do any of you know what I'm talking about in terms of how this film looks creepy yet somehow fails to register any of the emotions that should automatically accompany its aesthetic?

It's pretty much this: a Lifetime movie with Nicotero-esque effects. I gave it a 4/10.

Would it have been less of a "chick flick" if Maggie was a boy named Michael rather than a girl? Is it the script you find fault with or the gender?

Edit: You know we chicks don't like boring movies either. I have been watching Horror since I was 4. Don't put this on us because it was labelled incorrectly. Not everything slow moving that contains emotions are appealing to chicks. I hate romance. My boyfriend watches more chick flicks than I ever have.

hrm, I can see how a description of this movie could start out sounding like a "chick flick melodrama" but only for so long.

Someone slowly dying from a zombie virus
Her Father lost her Mother and now has to face losing her as well. He simply has to choose between sending her to die in a quarantine camp, giving her an incredibly painful injection or shooting her in the face
She must face the loss of her future and and possibly eat or infect her entire family

Oh, and the world is ending.

I like all sorts of takes on zombies, I can totally see not wanting to delve into the emotionally painful bits but I thought it was brilliant.

I do believe you've completely missed the whole point of the film, as such I won't waste any time attempting to explain it to you....
