Camerawork

Looks interesting from the trailer. However, I'm not convinced the hand-held camerawork works with this and how the audience will be able to put up with it for an hour and a half or so (I barely made it through the trailer). But then, considering the budget, this doesn't appear that bad. Worth a rental at some point.

I honestly didn't even notice that it was hand-held camerawork or whatever. I'm sure I'll notice when I watch the movie, but I don't think it will bother me all that much.

My one problem with the camera work were the slightly out-of-focus shots that happened very frequently. Which happens when you have a micro crew shooting the film. My guess is that they didn't have an Assistant Camera person pulling focus for much of the film. The Cinematographer likely worked by himself, and without the option of looking through a good monitor while shooting the film, it's easy to miss slightly on the focus.

But I'm willing to forgive this, because I like the film, and the soft focus doesn't significantly detract from the final product in my opinion.

Yes, you most certainly will notice. But it's not all that bad. The same thing happened with UPSTREAM COLOR (a great film, by the way).

I usually hate shaky camera work, but this didn't bother me at all. I didn't find it distracting and it worked within the film.
