History Programming

Its a shame that the History Channel has come to this. It takes special programming for them to show something thats actually historical.

What, you have a problem with "Did Aliens Asassinate Lincoln?"

This is the annual bone they toss out to us who watch a channel that still has the gall to call itself HISTORY, and expect to actually see "History" programming.

The channel has become a disgrace to the word "History" since Nancy Dubuc, the "queen" of garbage reality programming took over in 2007. Prior to her take over my tuner was glued to THC, I could probably count on my one hand the number of times I have watched the new "HILLBILLY CHANNEL", and have not watched it now for over two years.

Sorry Nancy, you can't get me back by offering something that should be on every day and think you're doing me and "History" lovers a favor, it's the garbage you pawn off as "History" that should be on only as an occassional "Special"....if at all a channel that still calls itself HISTORY.

I won't be watching- I'll wait for it to be on HISTORY INTERNATIONAL, which I might add is starting to show signs of Dubucitis- the garbage from the HILLBILLY CHANNEL is starting to appear more and more on HI.

It will be interesting to see how you screw this up though... I read in another forum that in the promo the soldier is wearing a hat for a unit that didn't exsist until the 20th Century ? A "steelie" ?

Fire Nancy Dubuc !!! History Made-up Every Day !

I've often said I never thought I'd lament the days when the History Channel was "the Hitler Channel." But, alas, it has turned into the "Redneck Channel."

Reminds me of how PBS does their pledge drives. They go on and on about how amazing the channel is, but the shows for that week they are asking for money only exist for that specific time frame. This isn't so much about public funding or not, but it is about how networks think we have such a short attention span to be deluded year after year. Even Discovery Channel has become more nonsense than knowledge. Sure the occasional special on History, PBS or Discovery can be monumental, but the day to day programming is often unwatchable.

I agree that the History Channel mostly shows nothing but garbage now. It is really a shame.
