Is it a rule on British TV

That every white girl must have a black boy friend? It's to the point it's as distracting as every other word on "Deadwood" having been "*beep*." You can't enjoy the show because you keep wondering why?

There seems to be a rule on British TV that men are unreliable and weak and women are needed to sort out the mess. That leads to meandering melodramas like Broadchurch.

Hopefully this one at least gets to the point in an entertaining way.

British shows love forced diversity.

I think you're talking about this show http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4374244/?ref_=fn_al_tt_9.

haha, I was just about to say the same thing ;)
I ended up on this page because I thought it was that show at first too. Once I noticed the cast list though, I realised it was a different thing

Yea! I was like 'a condo in Switzerland? Maybe they'll eventually go there?' But then I saw it was a US show. They're so similar it's crazy!
