Is it worse than say Ouija or American Haunting?

Those movies actually got laughs and boos when I saw them because they were so bad. Is this a decently entertaining B-movie like Deliver Us From Evil or a complete waste of money?

I haven't seen the other two, so I can't compare. This one just wasn't really scary. They really tried to scare you with numerous jump scares, but those fell flat as well.

i suppose not everything is better with Bacon

Eggs are always good with Bacon!!

MUCH worse. The movies you mentioned at least tried to be scary and/or fun, but this one was lazy and did absolutely nothing with its cliches, and plain and simple there was nothing scary about it. Literally the scares were nothing but loud noises, light bulbs breaking, people appearing behind one another, and the hand prints slapping people, and random animals popping up.

And in this moment, I swear we are infinite.

This is way worse. I actually kinda like An American Haunting even.

I'd have to watch it again, having not seen it for 10 years. All I remember is wanting to laugh out loud when she started getting slapped around and then some guy yelling out "THAT MOVIE SUCKED!" at the end, eliciting cheers.

i'm with town_night i kind of liked an american haunting!! didnt care for Ouija....man this movie is just garbage!!

reply

I preferred this to Ouija because the acting is better here. I saw but can't remember much of American Haunting.

reply

Nothing is capable of being worse than "Ouija"

reply

Well, Ouija 2 is coming out soon. :)

But that has a good director. Mike Flanagan who made Oculus. He sounded like he wasnt a fan of the first, and he said that if you didnt like the first, give Ouija 2 a shot.

reply

I'm actually looking forward to Ouija 2 because of Flanagans involvement. Definitely seems like a sequel that will be superior to the original (not that it takes much effort in this case).

reply

Flanagan is on board for Ouija 2?!? Dear god, I hope he knows what he's doing. Granted, if anyone can pull the mangled carcass of that film from the trash heap it would be him...

reply

Really? I didn't realize he was directing! I really like his work. The first one could have been rated PG and was pretty terrible (though the production value was nice), so I was going to skip the sequel. But I'll give it a shot with his direction. I also hope they release Before I wake at some point - I wonder what happened to it???

They're coming to get you, Barbara!

reply

and to think, if there weren't so many dimwits who believe a Ojija board could summon spirits, this movie would never have been made.

reply

It's about just as awful as Ouija.
