They looked so well off and rich I was actually glad they were being haunted (That is an awful attitude to have)

I was/am jealous and want that kind of wealth as well. If I ever get there I hope not to have the issues they had as a family or have the hauntings.

I am such a hypocrite.

Work hard and you can achieve that level of wealth. Yes, your post was negative but i understand jealousy. Just remember, even the wealthiest ppl can be unhappy and not have good lives. I'm a 28 yr old female, haven't finished my degree (yet). However, I have things in life that iIbelieve money can't buy. My grandpa loves me and believes in me. My boyfriend as well. I also love animals and playing piano (music in general). My grandpa is a retired engineer andi hope one day iwill achieve money. But for now all I can do is live in the moment. Sorry for the long post. R u happly about things money can't buy? I'm sure u can think of something.

Also iIhave to add that my life is definitely not perfect. I've had some BAD things happen. Anyway, iIwas just trying to cheer you up

No, you're not a hypocrite, you're a human being. As soon as I learned he was an architect - ka-ching! - I felt my lip curl in mild disgust (i.e., envy.) SURE, they'll take the presidential suite. Wouldn't any family, at the first hotel they stop at, having called no others? No big.

(What was in the paper bag??)

I was wondering how long it'll be until someone mentions race. Lately it seems race has to be brought up everywhere.

Could it not really be about race, but about clichés? I mean, 9 times out of 10, it does tend to be about rich white folks.
Mind you, I understand that money makes things easier for the plot (or lack there of in some films): No need to worry about missing days of work, huge sets, etc.
As for the white thing; it doesn't actually bother me all that much, but I do get a bit tired of the christian = good angle that seems to come back extremely often.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing the films that have that premise, but sometimes I'd like to see something radically different.
Like the witches being the good guys and getting rid of vengeful angels. Or an evil priest spirit being banished by a pagan (whatever the flavour) ritual. Heck, why not make it the popular jock dude being possessed instead of the shy virgin girl would make an interesting change.

Aside: I agree that the trend of crying racism (or any other kind of -ism) is tiring and it is my opinion that it actually distracts of those cases where there really is discrimination afoot.

I agree with that on the cliche thing. The things you mentioned, like the reversals to the common themes, I find interesting and would love to see some of that. The constant repetition does get boring.
