So who's ancestor to whom

I watched 'Pillars' when it came out and I now beginning to read the book. I also watched today the first episde of 'World'. I know that the Kingsbridge characters in 'World' are supposed to be descendants of the ones in 'Pillars' but I'm still not sure of which.

I suppose Caris and the Woolers are descendants of Alyena and Jack.

The squires are descendants of Alyena's brother, right?

I suppose Elfric Builder is descendant to Tom Builder but, didn't Tom's son die without issue?

Is Godwyn supposed to descend from somebody from the other book?

What about the healer/witch played by Indira Varma?

There are spoilers for Pillars in this post...

Caris and the Woolers (including Petranilla and Godwyn) are descendants from Martha, Tom Builder's daugther.

Merthin (Elfric's apprentice) and Ralph (the squire) are Aliena's and Jack's descendants.

Elfric Builder is just a builder, that's why he has that name. I've just finished reading the book today and I don't remember him being descendant from anyone from Pillars.

Same as above for Mattie Wise.

Thank you, I see I had messed it up pretty badly. It wasn't until I watched the second episode that it registered with me that Caris and Godwyn were cousins and that Petronilla (disgusting bitch) was really the Prior's sister. I though at first that Godwyn introduced himself as the Prior's nephew because he was actually his bastard son!

This doesn't have to do much with the conversation but I didn't buy the Mattie Wise character. Too anachronistic and too little explanation.
