...is it worth watching?

I am a fan of Game of Thrones, is this series as good?

Don't be a DOUCHE carnifex, just because you did'nt like it dose'nt mean he/she won't. I happened to like it very much but, watch : The Pillars of Earth " first. In my Opinion.

Well, parts of it are. Episodes 6 and 7 are REALLY good.

You know what, OP? It is like a watered-down, less amazing version of Game of Thrones.
It's stupidly entertaining and just a joy to watch whenever you have nothing else to do; I would highly recommend it as an avid GoT fan simply because it's intriguing, fun and you'll laugh so hard at certain points you'd wonder why you even considered not watching it.

I'm a big fan of "The Pillars of the Earth", I'd actually argue its better written and less frustrating than "Game of Thrones" ... you actually get a sense of the narrative moving and the story moving on...vs taking twenty years and still no end in sight.

Silly on every account and so predictable. The villains so very bad and the nice ones so very nice. As for History and its truth, it is totally forgotten. One of the worst series I have ever seen (Well... actually I stopped after Number 4)

It's a good series but quite harsh and frustrating too, don't get too attached to the characters.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

i'm probably one of the last few who has Not seen GOT, but this is a very elaborately-staged English medieval historical fiction.

think of maybe "ROME" meets Robin Hood..except it is not really about outlaws.
