Around 10 blows to take out that lowly thug?

I get the impression that scene in the trailer was meant to make Batman look more badass, when I think fewer punches to take down that thug may have worked better with that. Those other thugs should be thinking "Yeah I think we can successfully take this guy on" after seeing that.

I think the point was to make him look aggressive, landing more punches than were necessary.

I wasn't sold on the trailer, personally. But what I took from that part was that they were trying to make Batman look mental. Instead of using just what force is necessary, he was going overboard almost as if he was trying to punish the thug.

Well, a billionaire running around at night punching people while pretending to be a bat is quite mental.

reply

He's not a billionaire pretending to be a bat.

He's a pioneer that embraces a non-binary identity accepting both his human and his bat side. Only reactionary people keep defining humans and bats on a traditionalist binary exclusive basis, being unable to accept new fluid identities that advance beyond binary mental boundaries unable to understand the reality of a fluid Bat-man. 😎

reply

That's even MOAR mental.

😁

To make him look more badass and to get the point of brutality across. They want us to know this Batman is mean as a rattlesnake and ruthless as hell!

reply

Just about everything about this movie looks bad.

reply

The intimidation factor. Not to us as viewers but to the rest of the thugs.
You don't want to fuck with someone who'll mutilate you if you're in his way.

Batman is awoken at 5.25 next morning..its Gotham Police... 'Mr batman I'm arresting you for prolonged ABH.. you do not have to say anything but .. blah blah etc '

Joking aside I'm finding it difficult to think of RPatz in the suit being all badass severely beating some goon to death... Bale? Patrick Bateman himself? Yes straight way you could believe it ...Affleck? Well he's so big you could get behind it.. and even with the smaller Keaton/MrMom (who had the pre internet Craig factor) when we saw him in the suit in the opening it was like scary..like something we'd never seen before almost as if he was a literal 'bat-man' (before the suit became commonplace within the franchise)

in real life a punch or two doesn't take out anyone, unless you're Muhammad Ali.
but the scene was to show that Batman was brutal, and continued the beat down after the guy was already down

Just about everything about this movie looks badass!
