Based on 'True events'?

What is factual about this film and taking from truth? In the beginning it states "Based on true events" so what is true about it?... I'm just curious. Could anyone help me out? :)

Probably any of the numerous stories of people dying in saunas and sweat lodges.

You do know that it could just be a name or a location similar to an event that happened..and a film can say "Based On True Events."

The true event is that, in Georgia, where the filmmakers are from, 3 out of 4 kids got stuck in the sauna, one that was outside, had no idea he left them in the sauna, and started searching for them elsewhere. Also the part on how exactly door got locked, the sequence of unfortunate minievents, as it is revealed at the end, is based on true.

In true story, no one died because, the heater was electric, so by removing the rocks they decreased the temperature, but had to be in still hot sauna for over 10 hours.

Thats very interesting. Though it did seem to be suggested during the movie that michael intentionally locked them in the sauna. I was fairly sure there was malicious intent all the way through...

I am the son of a man named Tom.

There's a movie on Netflix about different ways people died by accident, most died by electricity but one couple were in a small home built sauna in their backyard. The door handle broke and they couldn't get out. The husband died and the wife was rescued the next day by neighbors who heard her calling for help.

I'm thinking in this movie if they had sat down, conserved their energy someone would have come to save them.
