Question about Season 1 Episode 1 (2010)

In the last challenge, the chocolate celebration cake, Jas was noticeably absent from the judging. I thought I had just not seen it, but after watching again, her cake wasn't showcased. Does anyone know why?

Unfortunately I've never seen any of Seasons 1-3. If my PBS stations ever ran them, I completely missed them but that seems unlikely since I'm an absolute geek for baking shows (this one in particular). My guess is that PBS here in the US just started showing the GBBS about 2 or 3 years ago. I had been able to watch some (but not all) unaired-by-PBS episodes on YouTube but last time I checked, they'd all been taken down.

I've even tried to find DVD's of all (or any) of the seasons of this show but even the BBC shopping page doesn't have them. All I've ever been able to find anywhere online, including sites like eBay, that's related to this show is cookbooks. I can't figure out why DVD's aren't available.

dagr, I'm puzzled too why we cannot purchase this wildly successful show by anyone's standards on DVD. It's not even on DVD in the UK! Only digital downloads are available. It is completely odd and frustrating because I've become hopelessly addicted to it and won't rest until I can see every second of every show.

I just realized tonight that my local PBS station didn't even show what they are calling season 2! They played "Season 1" Fall of 2015 and are now playing "Season 3." (Quotations used because I stay perpetually confused by the different season numbers between the UK and US show.)

It has to be a rights/legal issue why there are no DVDs because whoever owns the rights is sitting on top of a literal goldmine. The fact that's not being taken advantage of is so very strange!

All I can say is Netflix had better be padding that Season 1 with some others quite soon. Stat!

As near as I can tell, Season 1 in the US was Season 5 in the UK. Then US Season 2 was UK Season 4. Now we are on to Season 3 which is actually Season 6.
