That weird creepy incest theme song.

What do the lyrics mean? Is Jewel one of her father's son's brother's wives?

EDIT

Rereading my post, I fear that I may have left out my point.

The lyrics are amazingly sexist. They imply that the family only gives birth to sons because of their patriarchal superiority, and the offspring marries off in heterosexual marriages to women, and they all have more sons.

With Jewel herself singing, "Fathers, sons, brothers... wives." Um, Jewel is a biological daughter of the family. Didn't she have a problem with the implication of the song? That they only have sons because they're so macho?

Jewel should really know better. Where does she fit in with these lyrics?

Hi, Officer Deputy Dippity.

I think this is the literal interpretation of the show's opening song lyrics:

Musha ring dum a doo dum a da
Whack for my daddy-o
Whack for my daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar-o

50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain

Here is a link to a video of the theme with lyrics so one can make up their own mind if it's weird or creepy or incestuous. Personally, I don't see anything like that in this song.

Thanks... I made up my mind... the song sucks... just like the family, the show, the producer and the channel... 

If you deflect the topic of the thread from the show to me, our discussion is over

She is Atz's daughter by a different wife it seems, and Atz Lee is her brother, Otto is an Uncle Eivan is a cousin. This is a good sized Mormon family so I would not be shocked if there were some plural marriage etc. but I understand they are non-practicing Mormons. Yule got the original land grants and proved up on them with the hard work of Atz, Otto, and the rest of the family, he also was involved in writing the constitution for statehood and served in state government for years, so their name is well known in the state. By the way there are daughters in Atz's generation and I think Jewel is not his only daughter. Jewell used to sing with Atz and he taught her how to Yodel so it shows he did do things with the womenfolk in his family too. Got some of this info from Wikipedia, by the way.

To suggest there is anything incestuous about the theme song or this family only proves that YOU are disgusting.
