WORST REMAKE EVER!!!!!

First, the movie didn't flop. If it cost 17 million and made 24 million (as of the time that info was recorded on imdb) that's fine....because movies that make a profit keep Hollywood going. It employed hundred of industry professionals and kept the machine running, and in the black.

Second, the original 1976 movie isn't really that great. It has a few good songs and a terrific performance by Lonette McKee as Sister, and really that's it. Everything else about it is pretty generic.

I liked this remake better. And I'm not a rabid Whitney Huston fan, but this is the best thing I ever saw her do. Very gutsy....not shiny and pop-star-image protected.
