Lonette McKee was very good in the original but the film as a whole seemed thrown together with low production value and choppy awkward dialogue. This remake is so much better.

That is what makes the original such a classic. It is campy and fun and has a cult following. I love the original Sparkle.

Are you serious? This remake is slow moving and awful. The original wasn't great but it was more entertaining. This movie is only big because of Whitney Houston where I don't see where it's anything that special about her performance.

When Sister died in the original movie, it was actually heart breaking the who set up was emotional. Seeing her singing and then the next laying in a casket.

Sorry, I wholeheartedly disagree. This version was dismal, disjointed and boring compared to the original.

The difference between a lady and a flower girl is not how she behaves, but how she is treated.
