Whitney's Eye on the Sparrow performance?
I will admit that Whitney actually did a pretty decent job on the Eye on the Sparrow performance showing that she still had the vocal chops that she once had.

shareIt was a very emotional performance.
shareHer voice sounded a bit too raspy instead of that crystal clear beauty we used to hear in her voice. Plus this song is so overdone it's become of a cliche and there's better songs out there. I know this one is a classic, but for me it's like "Let It Be" by the Beatles...a classic but just not a song I really like. (I liked all of the songs from The Preacher's Wife more than this one.)
shareI thought she was no where to close to doing that song justice the way the old Whitney would have. If I had directed I would have had her sing it with the choir. Then have had Tamela Mann's character step out and do the song solo at Sister's funeral -because no way would I have changed that part of the story!
Sheldon:"Was the starfish wearing boxer shorts? Because you might have been watching Nickelodeon".
I thought both Whitney's singing and acting were great. It's Whitney and Carmen's film.
shareI thought she was good considering the stress she had on her vocals plus she was a 47/48 year old woman, she's not going to sound the same way she did 20-25 years ago, plus I teared when she sang b/c she's no longer with us.
shareSorry but in singing the older the stronger the voice is like Patti, Chaka and Jennifer Holiday. Whitney sound as good in her "bodyguard movie days" then she was heavily into drugs too.
