Magic Snow Globe ripoff?

I used to be a reader at a lit agency and I remember reading one called The Magic Snow Globe that was a lot like this film. I'm assuming the Snowmageddon producers bought the story from the writer of the Snow Globe. If not, I hope that writer finds out about this movie and lawyers up. It's way too close to be a coincidence.
