Why use 30 + 40 year olds to play kids?

Surely they could not have been worried that using younger actors would ruin the quality of the movie?

Considering the real Jersey Shore guys are already in there 30's, I see no big deal.

Please Google before you make claims that are easily checked. Paul D is 31, the Situation is 29. Everyone else in the cast is younger.

I still don't get why they used actors 10-15 years older than the cast? I just don't believe that there were no 20-somethings that could have played those roles, not that it would have helped.

How do you know they're ALL in their 30's and 40's? 2 of them aren't even 30 yet and the only other one with any birth date info was only born in '78. Not that big a deal.

Pauly and Mike are both in their 30's.

I think that's part of the joke? Most of the Jersey Shore "kids" look 10+ years older than they actually are. And like others have said, Sitch and Pauly are in their 30's.

wasnt andrea 30 on 90210 and Dillon and the others late 20's when the show started and even nearly 40 when it ended w them in college?

Andrea and Dillon weren't that old...but the actors that played them were...lol.

Most of them were 17-21. But some were in their mid 20's, yeah. Andrea's a Dillion's actors included. :P

Most of those teen movies of the 80's had actors in their mid 20 to early 30's in them.

JWoww,Vinny and Snooki were born in 1987
Sammi was Born in 1986
Ronnie was Born in 1985
Pauly D was Born in 1980
Mike was Born in 1982

Jeremy Luke(Who was Spoofing Mike) was born in 1977
Melissa Molinaro(Who was Spoofing Snooki) was born in 1982
Daniel booko(Who was Spoofing Pauly D) was born in 1983 so he is actually younger
There is no info on the actresses that were spoofing Sammi and JWoww,anyway the ages of the actor did not bother me
