It's beyond belief!

I just can't understand how a show like this is not shown in the U.S. It is a reality show about one of the biggest action hero's ever and his pursuit to win a fight against an Olympic gold medalist. It's a real life kirate kid and yet no one even knows it's on television! I saw a couple episodes of it and I must say that it is really impressive. Instead of a reality tv show starring nobody's this actually has a hollywood actor in it and he actually has things to do and say, he has a life. JCVD is really down to earth, very spiritual and loving. It's a very positive show with a very positive message and I guess America who is at war with everyone right now, doesn't need any of that.
Anyway great show, I highly recommend it. The hell with the jersey shore, the kardashians, pregnant teens, and all that crap, check this out.

After watching 6 eipsodes of this, I have to say I admire him, and he is completely different to the person he was being made to be (made to be an arrogant twat over the last few years), but thats not the case at all.

Its nice to see he still is passionate about his movies, and he is very close to his family, and they support him 100% in whatever he wants to do in the future.

COmpletely different from seagal who is a lazy, overweight, c_unt faced bollock crush f_ucking wanker.

I`m not sure he will have a chance in wining this fight, but he certainly has the heart and passion to give it all he`s got. Good for him!!!!

If he does the splits and punches the bloke in the bollocks, then it will be an epic victory.

I think it was for the best that they did this show in the uk.
Every episode is 45 minutes long and the pacing is nice and it's relaxing to watch.

If they did this on american television every episode would be barely 19 minutes long and they would use all these unnecessary fast cuts and crap.

I really hope they do a second season.

Does anybody know how this has done in the ratings?

reply

I wouldn't mind a second season but I don't want them to turn into the Hogan family and fall apart or turn into classless celebrity yuppies because of it. You're absolutely right about it not being American made. All we get on tv out here is the self centered prima donna. Crazy how imdb hasn't got it yet.

I completely agree. I grew up idolizing Jean Claude Van Damme, he's still one of my favorite action stars of all time. I love the guy and I'm glad he's trying to get back on top where he once was. I miss the 80s and the 90s, the Golden Days.

The show is riveting, to say the least. Kind of in the same way a train wreck is riveting. I love JCVD, but this show really gives you his worst days. In the episode where they throw him a party to celebrate his birthday in a big club, he meanders around telling photographers to go away, whines about things, and completely blows off the people there. The only positive thing he had to say was the pop star singing on stage "has a nice @ss". Very classy.

He then later talks about being bi-polar, so maybe that's what is going on. I do not live with anyone suffering from bi-polar disorder, so I don't know, maybe it affected his mood swings. But in every episode, he devotes time at least once to cry and whine about how he needs this fight, blah blah blah.

Come on, JCVD, you are a warrior. Freaking dust yourself off, quit whining like a prima donna, be a man and move on.

I grew up idolizing him, and even taught myself to do the splits because of watching him. I do have to admit, I admire him for wanting this fight. I don't know if he can beat an olympic medalist 12 years youngr than him, but he has heart.

I laughed hard visualizing somebody out there doing this.
