"So...this highly valuable Civil War artifact turns to be the one thing that is bringing in Demons from Hell into your house and threatening your family's lives. As long as you have it here you will never be rid of the dark ghouls who are attached to it and want nothing more than to suck your children's life essence out of them while they sleep. Now I would be willing to take it way *for free* and put it in my museum. Or you can keep it here. What do you want to do?"

yeah, I thought that was pretty sketchy too. But it looks like recently he doesn't take the items anymore. He just tells the home owner to present the item in the house as a gesture or something. He was probably tired of people calling him a thief.

John has really loosened up on Taking "Art-i-fats". I like what he is doing this season.

The episode I watched last night involved him passing over an old shoe, deteriorated dress and a moldy bag, but he snatched up the perfectly preserved 19th century veil!

So... How do we know it wasn't the decrepit stuff that was haunting the house?

Collector....should have given it away.

Then again, maybe the production company pays the family for the artifact and being able to shoot them on the show.
