Rom-Com with slapstick and 3 children? Yah, right.

... and a 45-year-old lead actress.

But I loved every minute of this recipe for disaster per my way of thinking. Fantasy? Sure. Cliched? Absolutely. Adorable? You bet.

The French reviews panned the movie but did compliment Sophie Marceau on her age. I looked it up. You would never guess this woman to be 45, especially after seeing her cutesy attempts at slapstick.

Gad Elmaleh gets to have a little bit of a personality, much more than he had in, enjoyable nonetheless, 'The Valet' or 'Priceless'.

Does it cure cancer or feed the hungry? No, but it's a Rom-Com and as such it succeeds admirably.

The second half of the movie, the plot was reminding me of some other movie, but I can't place it, any idea what it was? Probably something with Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock. In the movie I'm thinking of, the guy is a journalist, I think a recent grad from j-school, and he gets an offer from some prestigious magazine or newspaper, but the job would involve going somewhere far away, maybe it was a foreign correspondent, and then the woman, his love interest, can't go with him but encourages him to take it anyway because it's a once in a lifetime chance, and then he finds out afterward that it was the girlfriend's ex who totally arranged the job, and he has a bit of a dilemma whether to even keep it. Damn, I can't place it now, was it a Woody Allen movie? Or was it not a movie at all but a TV show? I think within the last ten years or so but maybe before that.

Just saw it on a long haul flight, it was my 3rd movie in a row - and I was mesmerised by Marceau's beauty and really enjoyed all the rom-com slapstick, the movie held my attention to the end.

I could watch Marceau's face for hours, great bod too and that shaggy hairstyle and bubbly persona all make me want to marry her (which for me makes her character and the plot utterly believable on that score).

If you were to see the scene - where Sophie turns up at the boyfriend's place wearing a trench coat and a corset - on a full size TV instead of a tiny screen in a seat back, you may find yourself back on a plane, to France, with an engagement ring in your pocket!!!

I agree, the woman is adorable.
