It's time to face the facts; Spoony's given up (and we should too)

As of the time of writing this post, it has been:

*76 days since his 'Street Hunter Rebuary' review (his last real movie review)

*351 days since his 'Spoony & April See Avengers 2: Age of Ultron' review (his last real vlog)

*437 days since the 'Massacre At Central High' review (his second-last real movie review)

*521 days since the 'Nightmare: Back In The Hole' review (his last Black Hole of Board Games Review)

*622 days since the 'Big Trouble In Little China for Commodore 64' review (his last actual video game review, done in his classic style)

Everything in between has either been Wrestle Wrestles, Live Wires or Counter Monkeys (which in all fairness ARE content, but none of which I've never really been interested in watching).

Nothing against Mr Antwiler, but he really does need to at least announce that he's semi-retired from being a serious internet reviewer and we fans need to come to the realisation that he's not going to return to form anytime soon (which is understandable, because he's not a well man).

He needs to look after himself and get his life in order, and then hopefully one day he'll make a great comeback, but this is unlikely for the foreseeable future in my opinion.

Yeah, I really like his content. But I can't like his content if he doesn't have any. Even Counter Monkey, which is honestly one of my favorite shows of his. Wish he'd keep making them.

I definitely think the last nail in the coffin was when he shut off comments to all of his videos. Sure, he's always had one of the most nasty, vindictive, and toxic fanbases out there, so I couldn't really blame him that much. But still, it's never a good sign.

SPOILERS:
Rosebud is a sled, Snape kills Dumbledore, Ned Stark dies.

Yup, he's done for. Too bad he still has loads of money coming from Patreon; 1800$
He has lost a lot over the years, think his peak was about 5k a month, for doing nothing.

He promised to quit twitter, but having 50-100+ tweets a day isn't quitting. His last Rebruary had one video in mid february and one *beep* one a couple of months later. His movie is non-existent and the basic patreon-goals have never appeared.

Shame, since he was one of the more awesome internet-ppl out there.

I know he has some mental issues, and a heart condition or something, but what he's done for years is pretty much scam his fans for money.

Recently he posted on twitter he didn't watch E3 because he was too busy. Doing what, I have no idea...

Hope the remaining 300 patreons wake up and stop donating. Maybe when not earning so much anylonger will help him realise his scamming days are over.

RIP Spoony, might you scam ppl no longer!

Starting the Patreon was probably the biggest mistake he could have made, as far as the job itself goes. It's fairly clear that the delivering of content went from a chore to a full-on burden with the heavily increased entitlement of fans. He put up with a lot of crap over the years, but it was weeks or months after the Patreon that he permanently shut off comments everywhere.

I sympathize with, and understand the disappointment of, people who chose to donate their money to support the production. But at the same time, if he wasn't delivering, just pull the funds and wait for him to sort it out. A lot of people have, but there's still nearly 2 grand being pumped into the perpetual nothing machine each month by roughly 400 very generous people. I have a feeling they do it just to give Spoony something to live off, though, and have stopped expecting content since long. I do remember a few people saying they were happy to be giving something back for the years of free entertainment, regardless of content output.

I do hope he gets well soon. I miss Spoony.
