The douchebag skateboarding Peter Parker is a Failed experiment

I saw Captain America: Civil War, and Tom Holland showed up as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

From the get go, this kid reminded me totally of Tobey Maguire. He had a sweet, dorky charm about him.

I know a small minority of people loved the douchebag skateboarding a-hole version of Peter Parker that Andrew Garfield played, but obviously the MCU rejected that version.

reply

Maguire was by far the worst.

reply

Maguire worse? Until Holland, Maguire was the closet to the original.

reply

Agree!

reply

Andrew Garfield was godawful as Peter Parker.

reply

Absolutely agree about douchebag Peter Parker. Not only that, but he looked like a complete dweeb. Totally wrong for the part.

I didn't like Andrew Garfield's Spiderman at all. That's not the Peter Parker that we all know and love.

The Spiderman in Civil War was perfect.

reply

I'd rather see Peter dinklage as Peter parker

reply

hey i like andrew garfield's spiderman and peter parker, but tom holland's spiderman and peter parker in civil war were much better and seemd more like the tobey maguire days but even better, still might be premature to be calling hollans the best spiderman ever

reply

Garfield's Peter Parker in no way sold himself as a kid who was socially ostracized or a mistfit. Peter is supposed to be a loser and constantly mocked for being a nerd. Garfield looks like the kind of guy who picks on Peter.

Please explain how Maguire was anything like the original. His weird, silent, autistic-like character is nothing like Peter. Peter was never the spinless push-over that Maguire was. His mute, humourless Spider-Man was such a bore to watch.

Holland's great, as was Garfield. Andrew's interpretation wasn't perfect, but it's leaps and bounds better than Tobey.

I agree that the Maguire Parker, although I liked him much more than I did Garfield, was a spineless doormat that let pretty much everyone walk all over him. However, explain to me how in the world he was "autistic", because that word is being thrown around way too much nowadays with no one seeming to have the slightest as to what "autistic" means. So I'd love an explanation, unless you're just pulling it out of thin air.

Logan, buddy. It's me, Deadpool! I shot youuuuuu....
